Narrative Composition 201502643 Lee JiWon    I can't exactly remember the time I started writing, but I guess the first writing which had a paragraph format was the book report given as a vacation homework when I was an elementary school student. At that time, I was afraid of expressing my own idea since I believed there was a correct answer. I hated to write a book report and for most of the time, I typed in the title of the book in the search engine to find out how other think about certain topic. It may seem like I don't have any good memory in writing, but in fact it's not true. I did not hate writing itself, rather it was a fear of holding my position in writing. That's why I hated to write a book report or persuasive writing but have been loving keeping my diary of which the only reader is myself. Especially, the memorable experience of being school representative in the contest of report of experimental observation shows I enjoyed writing descriptive essay than opinion paragraph. Around the same time when I started writing in my native tongue, I also started writing in English as an assignment from English academy. It was actually quite fun and even motivating because my English teacher always encouraged me. I kept my interest in English and entered Foreign Language high school. Although I majored Arabic there, I could have many opportunity writing in English. Obviously, it helped a lot to improve my writing in English but I began to feel pressured since I knew my writing would be graded and the grade really mattered in terms of entering university. And until now, I lost my interest in writing in English but, I want to challenge myself and overcome such limitation by taking Narrative Composition class.
