Writing diaries is my earliest memory related to writing. When I was 8 years old, I had to write a dairy every day for homework and teacher checked students' dairies once a week. For the first time, I was really interested in writing about what happened for a day. Diary helps me to enhance my ability to organize ideas. In addition, I became to have deep views of things by writing the source of trouble. Thanks to the homework, to complete the diary grew into my habit and it was a positive influence as a result.
However, it became little bit burdensome task for me to write a diary every night. As I moved to higher grade, there were more and more things to study. Because I usually wrote my diary just before I go to bed, end of the day, it was getting late to sleep. Even if it didn't take too much time to complete the diary, I felt so stressful. Therefore, I was putting off the diary and I had ended up with giving it up. In other words, it had been pushed back on the priority list.
It was regretful for what I gave up when I realized that writing diary steadily can help to improve the writing skills and the importance of writing. Therefore, I started writing diary again at least 3 times a week. Sometimes, I tried to write in English as well as in Korean. I believe that if I don't give up writing, I will be able to be a better writer in the future.
Hi Soo Kyung !! I wrote diaries when I was little too... but finished up just throwing them all, because I was really embarrassed of what I had written hahaha I really admire that you have started writing your diaries again something I would never be able to do again :) Good luck this time !!
ReplyDeleteIt is always hard to keep up any kind of work on a daily basis, and I also am one of the kind that it takes a very long time to get anything in habit. I guess I would have been a better writer if I kept writing diaries or journals everyday!
