cheayoung son/People watching/Thursday 1-3

Just a few hours away from the attendance time, but ticket collector who was in the first gate of main entrance already looked too exhausted. Did she never take a break or was the work such a cruel thing. Her ponytail went limp and she gave visitors a wan smile. The collector spoke 2 sentences like 'Please show your ticket' or 'I want yon in have a great time.' in a kind and considerate way repeatedly. There was a long lineup of people waiting for their turns in front of her gate. It was cold out there, she wore winter uniform and chafed his cold, dried hand. Ticket collectors have to wear autumn uniforms from September to November but that day was not suitable because of last night's rain. A long red coat told us how cold she was. The line wasn't seem to be shortened as time went on, the ticket collector often checked the end of the line and labored with deep sighs. The collector's mechanical movements and comments were a striking contrast from young, sprightly children.  I couldn't read just little happiness in her smiling face. The customers asked "Where's the restroom?' or "When does the parade start?" those same question over and over. Also the first gate's answers were same. "It is in the right building" or "It starts at 8pm.". It looked like people in the amusement park couldn't deliver expectations to her.

  1. Reading your writing, I could feel how stressful the collector was and it was quite interesting to see the contrasted atmosphere between her and the children in a same one place. I suggest you to use five senses more to improve your writing!
