The image of rain was clearly shown in the writing, as the author was reminded of a man by looking at the rain. I assumed that one of the characteristics of metaphor is providing the reader to imagine the image with their own perspectives; it allowed me personally to think of myself looking at the rain. The gloominess within myself was seen as I read through the passages and think about my hidden feelings deep inside me.
